From a Dream to a Movement
Every Girl's Orientation Initiative (EGO) is a community‑based non‑profit organization dedicated to the transformation of women’s and girls’ lives across Africa. We exist to bridge the gaps that prevent girls from thriving — barriers to quality education, health, and economic participation — by merging our direct empowerment interventions with our systems change and sustainability programmes, we not only equip women and girls with needed skills, resources and support but we also amplify their voices, shift norms, and ensure long-term positive change.
Our approach is holistic, hands-on, and community-driven: we empower girls directly by organizing workshops, mentorship circles, vocational training, and skill-building sessions that respond to local realities, while also working at the community and policy levels to ensure lasting reforms. Through our economic empowerment interventions, we equip women and girls with livelihood skills, financial literacy, and leadership development that enable them to thrive in everyday life. Alongside this, we run awareness and sensitization campaigns on issues such as reproductive health, family planning, and gender-based violence prevention, ensuring that women of all ages have the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions.
By mobilizing grassroots voices and partnering with schools, community leaders, and civil society organizations, we design culturally grounded interventions that resonate with communities and scale impact sustainably.
